charity
here's some food for thought while you do your spring cleaning for the new year...
my friend recently came back from thailand...he's doing his master's thesis in chiangmai university...but he's also actually doing some part-time charity work for a refugee camp at his research site. the people he's helping are the "internally displaced people" of burma...who face persecution and oppression...until they cross the border and become refugees in the camp my friend is working with. you can read more about it here.
so anyway, if any of you people want to make donations in the form of clothing, toys, blankets, money, books or any other items that you deem useful...please email me asap to make arrangements. he's only back for the holidays, and will be leaving on the 9th of january...but whatever he can't carry with him this round, can be consolidated and kept till a friend or relative goes to visit him there...
let's try to make this year (and the coming ones) a little bit more comfortable for the less fortunate. =)
