speeding

*prologue start*

Moby: Tugk, we need to exercise. we're getting fat. can we do exercise today?
Tugk: ok, let's go and watch an S. League match.
Moby: how is that exercising?
Tugk: err...ok, let's go and play football championship manager 03/04 on your laptop at my house today.
Moby: ohhhkaayyy. i guess i can exercise tomorrow then. *thinks to himself - "yeah right"*
Tugk: yeah! we play whole day ok?
Moby: ohhhkaayyy.

*prologue end*

as we were driving from my place to tugk's house today, i was speeding, as usual, along the kje at around 120kmph. suddenly tugk said: "why don't we slow down today, listen to the music and enjoy the scenery. we're not really in a rush to my house anyway." it kinda made me realise that i've been missing out on something. as we drove along, listening to coldplay on the stereo, i felt much more relaxed than before, when i was bent on breaking the speed limit of a nissan sunny. i suddenly felt that in driving, speed wasn't everything. this kinda applies to life.

like they say, life's a journey...getting from point A to point B (birth and death) is a must...but how you make the journey is what it's all about. when driving, if you go at high speeds, you're very likely to miss out on things like the fish jumping in seletar reservoir, the wild flowers blooming along the roadside, and the occasional chiobu just-a-walking-down-the-street. likewise, if you speed along in life, missing out on the smaller yet finer things, then you can't really say that you've lived life (in my opinion). and plus, there's always the chance of running over a chicken if you go too fast.

(p.s. - from now on, i've decided to give my car engine a break and withhold all those requests for races. sorry alan heng, i know you're disappointed, but your mazda was never a match for my car in the first place. muahahaha.)

(p.p.s. - thanks tugk, for opening my eyes. and thanks for taking everton instead of arsenal. but you know i hate it when you give me chance.)
